Reception for the mayor of Kočevje Municipality from Slovenia



​Yesterday, Mayor Ljubiša Petrović organised a reception for Vladimir Prebilič, mayor of Kočevje Municipality from Slovenia. They talked about current political topics in BiH and Slovenia, and the upcoming presidential elections scheduled for 23 October when the successor of Borut Pahor will be elected. Mr Prebilič is one of the candidates in the election race.
 
During a friendly meeting they talked about a potential cooperation of the City of Bijeljina and Kočevje Municipality.
 
The guest from Slovenia took part as a spokesman for ethics and prevention of corruption in the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, the second meeting of the Platform of exchange between municipalities and cities in BiH, named ‘Open, transparent and inclusive policies at the local level in BiH’, which was completed today at hotel Ras at Ethno-village Stanišići. Representatives of 23 local self-governments took part in the meeting, and it was organised as a part of the project Innovating democratic participation at local level in BiH, implemented by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, with the support of the Council of Europe.
 
The project aims to enhance the quality of local democracy and promote new democratic approaches, transparent and inclusive local policy, open government and public ethics.
