International cooperation

The City of Bijeljina maintains ongoing international cooperation with diplomatic missions, representatives of international organizations, economic representatives, and development agencies. The aim of this cooperation is to promote the economic, social, and environmental development of the city, as well as to implement joint projects.

Cooperation takes place with organizations such as UNDP, GIZ, USAID, OSCE, and EUFOR, as well as with numerous embassies. Ambassadors and high-ranking diplomatic representatives regularly visit the City of Bijeljina, where they are presented with the city’s potential in the areas of investment, energy efficiency, human rights, and culture.

Bijeljina is an active participant in international conferences and forums, where city representatives present achievements in sustainable development, local governance, and citizen engagement. Special attention is given to relations with twin and partner cities, as well as to the exchange of experiences related to local self-government. The city also supports humanitarian and cultural projects, including hosting children from sister municipalities in Bijeljina during the summer holidays.
